We re-branded the Swiss state owned producer of (military) weapons RUAG.
RUAG develops trailblazing innovations and internationally soughtafter cutting-edge technology in the fields of aerospace and defence.
By combining outstanding technological expertise with a high degree of foresight and responsibility, it creates the foundations for security and progress within society.
RUAG tries to blur this fact with 1. nice and "innocent" division names - RUAG Space, RUAG Aerostructures, RUAG Aviation, RUAG Ammotec and RUAG Defence - and 2. with a division into civil and military based turnover, a neutral expert certainly would not agree with. Often weapons are sold to countries with very poor human rights records.
Ahead can mean further forward in space, to be in the lead, higher in number, amount, or value than previously. Thus one can walk ahead of someone, one can be ahead of time or ahead of one's (or its) time or ones profits can be ahead. It sounds like to go forward, to go a step further, to develop something positive.
Together can mean with or in proximity to another person, into companionship or close association, at the same time or without interruption; continuously. Thus one can climb together the dark stairs, being brought together by an experience, speak together or sit for hours together in the lotus position. It sounds like doing something as a team, in co-operation as a unity.
So together ahead would mean to go forward as a team, to get ahead in co-operation, to develop something positive in close co-operation. So it could be a slogan for a political party or an NGO. In reality it could also be a cheap slogan for a car or a bank, tough that certainly would be deceptive too. But it is none of this, its a slogan for a company who develops, produces and sells (military) weapons. Its the slogan of RUAG, the Swiss state owned producer of armor goods.
RUAG does not sell any products that bring people forward as a team, that bring people ahead in co-operation, with whom one can develop something positive in close co-operation. RUAG sells products with whom people execute power over other people. In reality these weapons are sold to countries with very poor human rights track records, they are resold to civil war countries and they are found among terrorist organizations. The products of RUAG are used to bring tremendous pain and suffering to millions of people.
According to a report published a year ago by the Stockholm Peace Research Institute Sipri, Switzerland ranks number 14 of the largest arms exporters. In 2017, Swiss companies sold war materiel (armored vehicles, assault rifles, grenade launchers, ammunition, etc.) worth around CHF 448.6 million abroad. The largest customers were Germany (117.7 million), Thailand (87.6 million) and Brazil (32.9 million). Also in 2017, Swiss war material landed in countries involved in armed conflicts. These include Saudi Arabia and the Arab Emirates, which are causing a humanitarian catastrophe in the Yemen War. Swiss weapons have been found in the civil wars in Lybia, Syria and Yemen.
